I am fortunate to live here in Winfield, and to have had the privilege of serving on the Winfield City Commission.  As I seek election to a new term, I pledge to work hard to make sure that Winfield continues to be a great place to live, work and play.

The experience and knowledge gained from my ten years on the commission will be
of great value in the coming years.  I hope the people of Winfield will value that experience.  The most important qualification I bring to the City Commission is my desire to see Winfield continue to grow, improve and prosper.  We must work for a safe and enjoyable town for all who are part of Winfield.  I am committed to devoting the time and effort it takes to accomplish that goal.

One of Winfield’s core strengths is our public-owned utility system.
Winfield is one of the few cities in Kansas that own all its utilities.  Public ownership of the electric, gas, water, waste-water, refuse and recycling utilities has a significant impact on the quality of life in Winfield.  We have exceptional city operations and services.  These entities will continue to require knowledgeable oversight, support and future improvements.  Since our utilities are a primary source of revenue for Winfield, it is essential to focus on their current and future needs.

The parks, fairgrounds, city lake, golf course, aquatic center and Broadway recreation complex are assets to this community not only as a benefit to our current residents, but also in attracting people to live and work in Winfield.

I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve the citizens of Winfield as City Commissioner.  I would appreciate your support in my election to a new term and your vote for City Commissioner on Tuesday April 5, 2011 so that I may continue to serve.  In return I will continue to work hard for the citizens of Winfield, devoting the time and effort it takes
to study, research, and analyze the current and future issues concerning our great hometown, Winfield, Kansas.

Sincerely,

Tom McNeish
